The California Resource Recovery Association (CRRA) has announced Vetrazzo, makers of the original recycled glass countertop surface, as the winner of its annual 'Outstanding Closing the Loop Commitment'award. The award has been bestowed upon a business, government agency or organisation that has created a product which reduces waste or has a high-recycled content or implemented an innovative programme on the same lines. Vetrazzo is involved in using 100 per cent recycled glass and it comes in a wide array of designs and colours. James Sheppard, president, Vetrazzo, said, ''A single panel of Vetrazzo can use up to 1,000 bottles. There is a 'Story in Every Surface'and to help tell that story a company provides 'Certificate of Transformation'with each panel so the owner will know the source of the glass in their countertop.''
